Since we were in away from home for Christmas, we did Christmas morning (with just our family) in our hotel room. Since we had two adjoining rooms, we were able to all sleep in one of them and set up a tree and leave the things for Santa (i.e., stockings, letter, cookies, coffee nog) out in the other.
The kids slept in until around 7:30am (thank you, black-out curtains!)...then we headed into the other room to see if Santa came...
HE DID!!!
These are the kids stockings...
Here are mine and Jeff's...
Santa left us "brown-paper packages tied-up with string"...
...and the string is special string that Santa and his elves use.
Cookie, coffee nog, and carrot leftovers...
...and a letter from Santa.
(Santa actually types his letter in a fancy font...but, when I tried to include the letter as such in this post, it was illegible...so, the above is an amended version...)
Our beautiful tree...and PRESENTS!
A gift from Avery to Noel...
(it was a bow and arrows set...the #1 item on his wish list)
...and one from Noel to Avery...
(it was the remote-controlled dog she had been talking about for months)
And that's really it for photographs from Christmas day.
No gift-opening action shots. No photos of the kiddos playing with their loot. No images of time spent celebrating with other family members. That's it...
We always get so caught-up in all the excitement and action of the day and forget to document it. We're bad...
Almost as bad as these attempts at a group shot upon arriving at Pop and Mimi's house for brunch...
Can't leave these beauties out...
We spent the rest of the day hanging out with the big group...eating and drinking and opening gifts and eating and playing/watching the kids play and drinking and swimming and eating and drinking and eating. It was a good day...
Merry Christmas!
